Illustration : intégrité

At École primaire Tujenge (Mont-Amba, Kinshasa), the Integrity Club reported on EduCheck: contractor short of funds. Within 91 days and through « Funding from an external partner », the project fixed the problem.

The « Citerne de récupération d’eau de pluie » project is meant to improve École primaire Tujenge (Mont-Amba, Kinshasa). Student monitors of the school’s Integrity Club, trained by the Anti-Corruption Research Centre (CERC), follow the works with the EduCheck questionnaire to check that what was promised is delivered.

The problem

On 29 November 2025, the Integrity Club reported the following problem at École primaire Tujenge: contractor short of funds.

Workers paid properly and on time mean a site that moves forward and work done well.

The problem was published on the school’s page and sent to the project management committee and the contractor.

The dialogue

The monitors opened a dialogue with the project management committee and the contractor:

  • Funding from an external partner

The result

The fix was recorded on 28 February 2026, 91 days after the report.

The monitors will check the fix during their next visit; the problem will then move to « Verified ».

This success shows what citizen monitoring makes possible: a problem made visible, a dialogue with the right people and a verified solution, for the benefit of pupils.
